Your request

Fields marked "required" must be filled in.

We'll use this to follow up about your request.

Only needed if you'd like text messages (see the boxes below). U.S. numbers only.

The state where it happened. Laws and deadlines depend on it.

A rough answer is fine.

A few sentences is plenty: what happened, when, and who was involved. Please don't include Social Security numbers, medical record numbers or account numbers.

Have you already hired a lawyer for this? required

By sending this request, you confirm the details are accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you've read our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. Sending a request doesn't create an attorney-client relationship, file a claim, or pause any deadline.

What happens next

  1. Step 1: Your request comes to Legal Rights Now.

We use your details to follow up with you about your request. We may email you with a question or two.

  2. Step 2: We look at whether it fits.

Some kinds of problems are areas where independent attorneys review cases. Others aren't, and we'll be straight with you about that.

  3. Step 3: Nothing goes to an attorney without your permission.

If your situation fits an area where independent attorneys review cases, we ask first. If you say no, your details stay with us.

  4. Step 4: The attorney decides independently.

We can't promise that a lawyer will take any case or that you'll get any particular result. Any agreement you make is between you and that attorney.

What we can't do

We can't give legal advice, and we can't tell you what your situation is worth. Sending a request doesn't file a claim, start a lawsuit, or pause any deadline.

If something is urgent

If you're in danger or need medical care, call 911. If a court date or filing deadline is only days away, contact a lawyer or your local legal aid office directly. Find legal aid at LawHelp.org (opens in a new tab).

Questions about the review

Read all questions
Will a lawyer take my case?

We can't promise that. An attorney who reviews a situation decides independently whether to talk with you or take it on. Any agreement you make is between you and that attorney.

What if I already have a lawyer for this?

It's usually best to talk with your lawyer first. The form asks whether you've hired a lawyer, and you can still send a request.

Does sending a request stop the clock on a deadline?

No. A request to us doesn't file a claim, start a lawsuit or pause any deadline. If a deadline is close, contact a lawyer or your local legal aid office directly.

What shouldn't I put in the form?

Please leave out Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, account numbers and passwords. A few sentences about what happened, when, and who was involved is plenty.

Do I have to agree to text messages?

No. Both text message boxes on the case review form are optional and start unticked. You can send a request without agreeing to any texts.

Can I ask you to delete my information?

Yes. Send a request through our contact form using the email address you gave us, and we'll delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.

Legal Rights Now is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The information you send helps us follow up about your request; it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
